Winter is finally edging away, which is no reason to stop wearing Polartec fabrics. Our fabric solutions are designed to keep you comfortable during April’s showers, those first unpredictable hot days, and any Sundays when hibernation still sounds appealing. We pulled together five new spring styles that have all of those variables covered.
Breathable waterproof Polartec® NeoShell® is shaped into a functional, go-anywhere jacket by Filson. The NeoShell Reliance Jacket doesn’t look like a mountaineering jacket but you could wear it up a mountain. Polartec® NeoShell® sandwiches a proprietary waterproof membrane between two fabric layers. This air-permeable membrane allows excess heat vapor from your body escape without having to condense into a liquid. That means you stay comfortable regardless of activity level. Quality details like fully taped seams, a mechanical zipper, and handwarmer pockets reflect thoughtful construction by Filson. This is a jacket you can wear year-round, year after year.
Spring means runners hungry for sunshine can finally get their fix. The Oiselle Shade Tank uses the piqué version of Polartec® Delta® cooling fabric to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful ray. UPF 30 (inherent to the fabric) and design details keep the chest and neck safe (for more coverage, check out the Shade Long Sleeve). Don’t think sun protection means you’ll feel hot after the first mile. Polartec® Delta® enhances your body’s natural cooling system, sweating, to keep you cool. The 3-D knit reduces surface contact with your skin, eliminating that “sweat cling” feeling. Finally, the fabric and design combine into a piece that won’t look out of place at brunch.
Once the trails dry out, get back out there in the Fox Racing Attack Pro Long Sleeve Jersey. The chest and body panels are made from Polartec® Delta®, which glides over the skin and keeps you cool when you start to sweat. Not sweating yet? The fabric still offers comfort during early spring mornings. Fox Racing added other smart features: trail-specific durability with sleeves reinforced with Cordura® fabric and Rider Attack Position (RAD) fit for comfort as you ride. They call Polartec Delta “technical wizardly;” we call it the Science of Fabric.
Recover as hard as you work. Rhone’s new Tencel Terry Hoodie and Sweatpant are made with a lightweight version of Polartec Thermal Pro. Knit with Tencel, considered one of the most environmentally friendly regenerated fibers, the fabric in these pieces have a soft hand feel that translates to pure post-weekend workout comfort. Polartec Thermal Pro is engineered to be highly breathable, ensuring you stay comfortable while on the couch or when warming up for the next workout.
Because riding naked isn’t always an option, Velocio created the Radiator Mesh Jersey with Polartec® Delta®. Lightweight and cooling, the name describes how Polartec Delta® works. The 3D knit, using Tencel and polyester threads, holds some sweat against your skin, giving it more time to cool you down. The knit’s construction also pulls excess sweat away from the skin, so you never feel sweat soaked. Add Velocio’s performance design and construction (the jersey is made in Italy) and you’ve got the perfect summer ride companion.
